Important

Make sure that you are aware of jdvrif compatible platforms, their various size limits and other posting requirements.

Default supported platforms (no checkbox) with data size limits:-

Mastodon (6MiB) | Pixelfed (15MiB),
Flickr (20MiB) | ImgPile (20MiB),
ImgBB (20MiB) | PostImage (20MiB),
Tumblr (~64KiB) | *X-Twitter (~10KiB).

*The default support method for X-Twitter is limited to a storage capacity of only 10KiB.

Select the X-Twitter checkbox to enable an alternative steganography method, potentially increasing data storage for your cover image.

Use the Capsize feature to check your image for available storage capacity for this alternative method.

More details can be found within the README page of the jdvrif GitHub repo.

Important

jdvrif will use different steganography methods for Reddit and X-Twitter, so the same cover image will report different available storage capacities.

The Reddit option will use the QIM steganography method (JPEG DCT-domain Quantization Index Modulation).

To maximise storage capacity for this method, use cover images with large dimension sizes: 1024x1024, 2048x2048, 4096x4096, 8192x8192 (max), etc.

Quality of cover image is not important for this method and should be kept basic for the largest dimensions to help minimise cover image file size.

The X-Twitter option will use the adaptive J-UNIWARD steganography method with Syndrome-Trellis Coding (STC).

To maximise storage capacity for this method, use high quality/detailed cover images with large dimension sizes: 1024x1024, 2048x2048, 4096x4096 (max), etc.

For this capacity check, your image is only measured, never altered or kept.
